The Museum holds a fantastic regional agricultural collection. Displays show a detailed look at how agriculture has shaped and influenced both society and the landscape. The collection includes many thousands of objects, photographs and archival material dedicated to the tools and techniques that have produced our daily bread for over 250 years.
The collection is displayed within two Museum buildings and through various open-air parts of the site. The Four Seasons Building takes visitors through the farming year, season by season, from winter ploughing to autumn Harvest. This building holds a variety of agricultural machinery, old and new, helping to tell the story of farming both then and now. It also holds exhibits connected with the everyday life of farming communities in days gone by, including its very own Harvest Chapel, Stubbs Ironmongers Shop and Granary.
