The Bognor Regis Museum of Local History is run by the Local History Society. The museum opened at its present site on 11th May 1997. Although modest in size the members of the society have clearly put a great deal of thought and hard work into creating a range of interesting and informative exhibits. Almost every aspect of Bognor's history is represented, from rocks and fossils millions of years old, the local history before the town was built and then from the towns creation through to the present day.
Apart from the very interesting exhibits, the museum sells a number of very good local guides, covering places of interest, fossils and Inns and Taverns. You can also purchase copies of the Bognor Regis Local History Society Newsletter which cover many aspects of Bognors history not usually covered in mainstream publications. Please remember that like many small local museums the people who do most of the hard work are volunteers and donations from the public are an important source of income that help keep the museum open.
