About Camperdown Country Park

Camperdown Country Park is the largest public park in Dundee and owes its name and fame to the victory of Admiral Adam Duncan over the Dutch fleet in 1797 at the Battle of Camperdown, off the Dutch coast. The park which is home to no fewer than 190 species of trees, was opened to the public in 1949.

The park serves as a backdrop for a variety of special events taking place throughout the year:

Race for Life

Race for Life is Cancer Research UK’s flagship event which brings together thousands of women each year to walk, jog or run 5K to raise money to beat cancer. The event has become an annual fixture in the Camperdown Park calendar.

Easter Fun Day

A fun day out for all the family, with entertainment and activities. Admission Free. Car Parking charge.

The Dundee Flower and Food Festival

The premier show of its kind in Scotland, Dundee Flower and Food Festival is a three day extravaganza of superb entertainment for all the family. Featuring over two acres of marquees set in the magnificent Camperdown Country Park, the event provides a showcase for fabulous floral and garden displays and cookery demonstrations, as well as featuring competitions, craft stalls, fashios shows and children’s activities. Dont’ miss the opportunity to taste and purchase goods produced by a range of businesses all over the country, from organic produce, seafood and preserves to beers, wines and confectionery!

Golf Tournaments

Compete in Dundee City Council's prestigious golf tournaments including: The Autumn Cup, Stuart Patrick Trophy and The J R Ritchie Rosebowl. Competitions are open to men and women who hold a valid handicap certificate and prize vouchers and trophies are awarded to the winners

Camperdown incorporates within its boundaries, Camperdown Country Park, Templeton Woods – a haven for wildlife and a great location for woodland activities, Clatto Reservoir – Dundee’s centre for outdoor watersports.

Combined with the wildlife centre, family fun fair, adventure playground and golf courses, Camperdown can offer a fantastic, fun-filled day out for all the family.

And when the sun goes down, why not take in a film, go ice-skating or simply have a meal at the Leisure Park.
