650 acres of countryside to explore with meadows, woods, gardens, ponds, lakes, and farmland with the River Lostock meandering through. Situated close to Leyland and Chorley between Whittle-le-Woods and Bamber Bridge with some lovingly restored historical features including a Pinetum and walled orchard. Open and FREE for everyone and car parking is just £1 per day. Lots of wildlife to see including breeding birds (including Great Crested Grebe) on the lake and kingfishers and herons are often spotted along the river. Managed by The Cuerden Valley Park Trust (and independent charity).
There are miles of paths for walking and cycling and plenty of spaces to run and play. Picnic areas. Course fishing on the lakes (with a permit). Please see the Park’s website for their varied programme of events and guided walks, health-walks, school activities in term-time and children’s activities in the the school holidays. Farmers’ Market (usually on the fourth Sunday of the month). Visitor centre open on weekdays and Teashop on Sundays in the Barn visitor centre on Berkeley Drive.
