One of the few Iron Age brochs in lowland Scotland. Unusually large, it sits in a fort defended by ramparts and ditches, partially overlain by a settlement of the Romano-British period. Nearby is the Abbey St Bathan's woodland - a site of national importance as it has many different lichens, plants, insects and birds.
