The Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum of Primitive Methodism in Crewe Cheshire occupies the former Sunday School room, built in 1914 to the memory of Hugh Bourne, who started many Sunday Schools and whose life-long concern was to bring children to God. Outside, on the front wall, a series of foundations stones commemorate the major contributors. The collection of books, memorabilia and artefacts from the early days of the denomination complements the chapel in portraying this new force in English religious life.
