Gossipgate Gallery lies in a tranquil corner of the historic town of Alston, situated high up in the hills at the heart of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Beauty. The gallery has been established since 1983, and having celebrated its 20th anniversary two years ago, continues to inspire those who visit.
Specialising in the work of contemporary artists and craftspeople from the North of England, selling paintings, sculpture, jewellery, glass, pottery, wood and textiles. The gallery also sells CDs of Northumbrian music, books of local interest and a selection of artists’ materials.
Continuous programme of exhibitions from February – December showing the work of both well-established artists and talented newcomers.
Small but intimate coffee shop, and a wildflower garden with tea terrace and a wide range of local garden pottery. Interest free credit available through the Arts Council's Own Art scheme.
