On a visit to Loch Skeen, Sir Walter Scott was thrown from his horse into a peat bog. Despite this unfortunate introduction, he was so inspired by the landscape that he later described the scene in his poem Marmion. The chances are that you'll be equally taken with this dramatic upland property, unfolding from the waterfall cascading into the Moffat Water Valley up steep slopes to Loch Skeen and the peak of White Coomb (821m)beyond.
