Monument to Vice-Admiral Hardy. The monument was erected in 1844 in memory of Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, Flag-Captain of HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. It stands on the crest of Black Down, from where there are glorious views across the Dorset countryside to the sea.
