Set in the beautiful Scottish Borders, the Park can be found on the western outskirts of Coldstream, which marks the border between Scotland and England. There is something for everyone at The Hirsel, a variety of walks by lakeside, river and wood through the grounds of the Hirsel Estate, along the way catching sight of the well known Douglas pedigree Highland Cattle and many forms of wildlife. The Visitor Centre at the Homestead, adjoining the car park includes the Cottage Tearoom, the Homestead Gift Shop, a small rural Museum of country life past and present, with a number of craft units. There is also a children's play area and picnic site. The museum aims to introduce visitors to what can be seen and heard as they explore the Estate and to provide some historical background so they can appreciate better how people lived and worked in the past.
