The Locomotion railway museum has alot of exhibits. It is housed on a 6 hectare site with historic monuments and buildings which are full of interactive displays. Locomotion combines old world charm, with our original Victorian buildings, with state of the art technology in our brand new Collection centre housing up to 70 railway vehicles. Whatever you want from a school visit, we can provide! A wide variety of activities are available to book, aimed at Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, and designed to support the National Curriculum in a range of subjects including History, Geography and Science. Find out how the Victorians used to live in the 'Washday Adventure', marvel at the real locomotives in our collection with 'Transport Timeline', and make your own wind powered land yacht in our sustainable energy workshop 'Exploring Energy'.
Visits can also be tailor-made to suit your needs.
