Here at the Moat Park visitors can see a series of detailed scale models depicting archaeological sites as they would have been seen at the time of their use. These models range from the earliest sites such as ritual henges and burials to the range of homes known to have existed in this part of Scotland, there are loch dwellings known as crannogs, the round houses of the Bronze and Iron Ages and the mysterious hillfort dwellings of more troublesome times over two thousand years ago. Walk through history and see Roman forts, medieval castles and a unique model of a Clydesdale bastle house - a seventeenth century defensive farmhouse.
