One of Yorkshire's finest 18th-century landscape gardens. The half mile-long grass terrace and adjoining woodland offer vistas over Rievaulx Abbey (English Heritage) to Ryedale and the Hambleton Hills. There is an abundance of wild flowers in spring. The two mid 18th-century temples include the Ionic Temple, intended as a banqueting house with elaborate ceiling paintings and fine 18th-century furniture.
