Rilshaw Meadows and the Flash have been used by the inhabitants of Winsford for over 100 years for recreational pursuits. The site is made up of four main landscape/ habitat types a woodland, a grassland area, hedgerow and the margins of the flash. Across the flash from Rilshaw Meadows off Weaver Street is Ways Green. This linear woodland site provides access to the farm land at the edge of the flash beyond the built-up edge of Winsford. The farm land is accessed over a musical stile which was made by children at a local school.
