Ancient ceremonial landscape of great archaeological and wildlife interest. The Trust owns 850 hectares (2,100 acres) of downland surrounding the famous monument, including The Avenue, King Barrows Ridge, Normanton Down Barrows and the Cursus, the latter variously interpreted as an ancient racecourse or processional way.
