In 1990, YAT set up the Archaeological Resource Centre, or ARC. Designed to complement your visit to JORVIK, the ARC offers a glimpse behind the scenes of a working archaeological unit and lets visitors get to grips with archaeology themselves through the handling and sorting of real archaeological finds. ARC are part of the York Archaeological Trust and seek to educate school groups and the general public in the processes of archaeology through hands on activities - i.e. handling real material.
